Awareness Raising

  1. DPOs are slowly engaging with Media for the purposes of raising gender and disability agenda. Few copies of newspaper articles have been shared with the Secretariat. This is a good sign that Media is being used as one of the lobbying tools. There is need to continue making use of this tool.

  2. DIWA has managed to produce five Issues of its Newsletters. Most of the articles are coming from women within the member countries that we work with.. And others are being creative in this area, where they are coming up with documentaries of what they do. Uganda for example managed to come up with two documentaries on Sex by Choice and not by chance, and What chickens can do to rural women with disabilities in Uganda.

  3. DIWA has a website and there it has created an interactive website to allow our member countries to discuss different topics.
